The WeHOPE Youth Program Continues to Pick up Steam
After launching WeHOPE Youth August 2017 with the Jung-bu Police Station, it has continued to expand and now includes official affiliations with the Ulsan Hogwon Director’s Association and from next month the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The WeHOPE Youth team is comprised of over 100 members. The members are broken up into three teams which each have a specific purpose.
Two teams will be publishing a monthly magazine for foreign residents that includes helpful information on anything from the best place to get your hair cut to changes in traffic laws. The foreign community has the opportunity to ask the WeHOPE Youth team to retrieve any information that is too difficult to find and it will be published in the following months magazine.
One team will be involved in a mentoring program. In association with the Jung-bu Police Station and the Ulsan Hogwon Director’s Association, approximately 30 WeHOPE Youth members will step up as positive community oriented role models and act as mentors to multicultural children in our community. They will meet weekly in hopes of creating long lasting friendships. Mentors will provide moral support to their mentees as well as tutoring for math or English should they need help.
