THE HISTORY OF WEHOPE
We HOPE was started by Daniel Gauthier in 2006 as T-HOPE (Teachers Helping Other People Everywhere) to improve the lives of underprivileged children and promote community development in Ulsan, South Korea. The organization, now a budding NGO, has gone through many changes over the years however remains committed to improving the lives of those in need and fostering growth in our communities.
HISTORY
2006 started Ulsan Orphanage program
2011, 1st annual Ulsan Orphanage Christmas party
2012, 1st annual Poker Run fundraiser
July 2014, started Lotus Center program
March 2015, name changed to We HOPE
May 2015, submitted NGO application and required documents
January 2016, approved as a government accredited NGO
January 2016, launched new logo
January 2017, expanded fundraising and programs to Busan and Daegu
March 2017, website launch
April 2017, New President
December 2017, MOU signing with Ulsan Jung-gu Multicultural Family Center
January 2018, WeHOPE youth program begins
March 2018, Official launch of Ulsan Jung-gu Multicultural Family Center program
May 2018, WeHOPE Mentor-Mentee program launched
2019, Application for Non Profit Corporation.
